In a small hamlet, at the edge of a forest massif, Gwenaëlle will give you a warm welcome in an old barn dating back to the 17th century. It’s a fully renovated cottage made of tufa stone with a lot of space and comfort, but still authentical. The beautiful garden is a “Refuge LPO” (life habitat for birds certified by Birdlife France) where you will love to pick cherries and other seasonal fruits.
Located 15 km from Saumur and less than 5 km from the famous Saint-Nicolas de Bourgueil vineyard, it’s the perfect place to relax, hike or discover the rich heritage of the Loire valley: castles, abbeys, troglodytes, vineyards, etc.
The close forest massif is ideal for watching the black stork, the short-toed snake-eagle, the Eurasian hoopoe and other rare bird species. And in autumn, you will be at the forefront to hear the roar of the stag!
Brain-sur-Allonnes is famous for its archaeological site of the “Chevalerie de Sacé”, remains of a fortified mansion built around 1290. Many different walking, cycling and horse-riding trails allow to discover fauna and flora. The cottage also has the label “Accueil équestre”, offering all necessary equipment for horses and riders.
Gwenaëlle is a Park ambassador and regularly trains to enlarge her knowledge of heritage preservation.
